Barry Griffiths career began in the early 1980's as an apprentice for R.W ToothillIt was there that he learned the modern skills and techniques of upholstery required to undertake the work he does today. He also gained his City and Guilds Qualification at Newcastle Collage of Technology where he studied for 3 years learning all the traditional methods of upholstery which is implemented on the various antique pieces that come into the workshop.
Barry's wife Jo is tuned in to interior design and is at hand for advice and any assistance required with colour co-ordination, texture and fabrics available. Jo can call to your home with a large range of fabric samples from various companies (links provided below). She will give a full estimate free of charge at your home and go through the full procedure with you.

" We had a beautiful old chaise longue which was in desperate need of re-covering. We were having great difficulty in finding anyone locally who covers it in less than 12 weeks, and at a sensible price!

" In April this year I saw an advert for B.J.Upholstery. I called them as I wanted four dining chairs re covered. I was most impressed with the service from the outset. Barry came to the house at a pre-arranged time with a selection of fabrics from which to choose. Having selected one Barry said he would order it & at receipt arrange to collect the chairs which he duly did. Much to my amazement he took the chairs away & returned them 24 hours later finished to a high standard.
The thing that impressed me most about B.J upholstery was not just the quality of the workmanship but the impeccable, friendly service. They did exactly what they said they would do at each stage of the transaction, almost unheard of nowadays.
